Conscious Ambition Tips: Rewilding
Below are Conscious Ambition Tips for this month inspired by my podcast conversation with Erica Meade and the concept of rewilding.
Right Ambition:
Ask yourself: What might be a project worthy of your effort (outside of professional work that is naturally calling your interest now) and an associated personal success metric that would honor your authentic motivation? Think along the lines of miniature making and “joy in the process,” as Erica has found is worthy of her effort.
Right Time:
What side of yourself is calling for rewilding? What activities or interests might be blooming or have you set aside that might be time to nurture now?
Right Effort:
Remember that sustaining activities don’t have to be conventional self-care—they just need to replenish your energy in a way that feels natural to you. What’s a creative hobby or activity that interests you that you could try as part of your sustaining practice? As Erica shares in our episode, doing a craft for just 15 minutes can create a moment of joy that feeds our well-being. For me, I’m longing for more time for “research as a leisure activity.” I know it sounds a bit nerdy, but the learner in me is just dying to dig into a number of topics!
